We expect our gardening aficionados will water their plants properly between our visits.
(And yes, we can teach you best practices!)
We’ll give you all the tips and tools you need to keep animals out of the garden.
But if those measures aren’t kept in place, we can’t guarantee that creatures won’t eat your weekly harvest before you do. 🐰
We can’t control the weather and extreme dips in temperature, but if your plants die from extreme conditions, we will replant through mid-October.
I wasn’t having much success by myself. I didn’t know what I needed, my plants were spindly, and I wasn't getting much harvest. I needed someone to tell me what to do because the seasons here are so different from Minnesota, where I lived before. If I know Lindsay’s coming, I don’t have to think about it—I just know it’s going to happen. She has the foresight and knowledge to suggest what needs to be done to get results. She’s also reliable, patient and friendly.
Sometimes I’ll think, ‘Do I really need Lindsay this year?’ And yes. Yes I do.”

I’m Lindsay, a mountain vegetable gardener dedicated to helping you bring the farm-to-table movement to your backyard.
Your garden should be a place where you can slow down and find abundance, balance, and connection.
Get a Garden is your starter kit—and then some for a lifelong hobby and lifestyle you can enjoy by yourself or share with others.
It’s an investment in your landscape and an extension of your living space.
It’s an education in growing your own food and caring for the environment, starting at home.
And while our Rocky Mountain soil might make us work harder for our harvest, the rewards are so much sweeter.
Let’s create the vegetable garden you’ve been envisioning!
It depends on the season when you inquire. For example, we may design your garden in the late fall and build and plant in the early spring. Other factors include weather, labor availability, and the complexity of your project. But the process takes approximately 1-2 weeks for the design, 1-3 days for the build, and another 3-4 weeks after planting for your first harvest.
There’s no such thing as a “black thumb.” Gardening is a skill just like any other, which means anyone can learn! Plus, we’ll support you on your gardening journey and can visit your garden frequently to check in on you and your plants.
With our Garden Helper maintenance add-on, you’ll only need to spend 5-10 minutes a day checking your soil and watering, harvesting, and looking for early signs of problems like pests or disease. That’s about as long as it takes to fold a load of laundry. (But way more fun.)
We’ll take care of the more involved maintenance like pruning, cleaning up debris, and mulching each month. If you choose to maintain your own garden, plan to spend at least 1-2 hours a week caring for your garden (or more during the busy planting and harvest seasons).
Raised beds allow us to address so many of the challenges of mountain gardening. We fill them with a compost-soil blend which drains better, warms faster, and has more nutrients than planting in-ground in our thin, native soils.
The result is an extended harvesting season, fewer pests and invasive weeds that are common in our landscape, a garden that’s easier to tend (no hunching over or crawling!), and a beautiful outdoor space year-round.
Every garden is different, and the cost depends on the size and amount of materials required. A typical investment ranges between $125-150 per square foot of usable garden space, and we’ll help you maximize your investment by planning strategically and getting the most out of every square inch of your garden.
When we send you your design, you’ll also receive a ballpark estimate for the total cost that includes all labor and materials. Once your design is approved and finalized, you’ll receive a full estimate. A 50% retainer will secure your spot on our calendar.
Because in the Rocky Mountain a proper set up is so important, Fourth Street Farm only provides routine maintenance to gardens we design or build.
We do! When you sign up for Full Garden Helper Support (12 visits per year), we guarantee a harvest per week during our growing season. 🥕🧄🥦
